Buck, In all your hunting experience in cold climates, how do you keep your feet relatively warm while still hunting? I hunt whitetail deer here in GA from a tree stand and I’m okay in fridge weather until I get still for long periods of time. Any advice? Thanks, Randy.
Hi Randy, I usually wear a type of insulated Pac boots with dry felt liners. It’s very important that both socks and boots fit reasonably loosely allowing full blood circulation. And, as they say, “If your feet are cold, put on your hat.” In other words, make sure your whole body is very warm so warm blood can be flowing through your feet. I avoid getting sweated up on my way to the stand by dressing lightly, then put on an appropriate number of loose fitting layers of clothing. I am a big believer in balaclavas in cold weather.
