   Hey Buck, I am thinking about doing the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail in one year’s time (I am taking a year off between University and Medical School). This is two years away so I still have a lot of time to plan. I was wondering which trail would be best to do first (I will graduate mid-May and presumably start immediately after graduation)? Also, how did you manage your meals on both trails? Thanks for the help and awesome site.

     Hi Corey,

     Firstly, what do you mean by “one year’s time?” How many months total are you talking? When do you go back to school?

     I bought almost all my food along the trail. On each of these trails I mailed food packages ahead in a half dozen spots or so. If I were to do these trails again I’d rely on even less packages.
