Hi Buck, I just finished reading your book “Fortress of Bears” – really great: how you describe your surroundings and your daily routines of gathering food and such. I also like your style of writing and the “philosophical aspects” of such an adventure as described by you. Your book reminded me a lot of a kayaking trip on Vancouver Island and the atmosphere along the coastline of Kenai Peninsula/Alaska which I both visited once. I’m sure many of your experiences on Vancouver Island and along the Kenai came to mind. There are a lot of beautiful, wild places still to be experienced, none more beautiful than Alaska.
