I would like to order “Alone in the Fortress of the Bears” and “Alone Across Alaska DVD”, but I live in Germany. Which costs do apply? Is it technically possible to play your DVD on european laptops/TV’s?
I have been hiking in Alaska once and I think about doing a solo trip in the Brooks Range. What are the greatest dangers in your opinion: first: hypothermia, second: drowning, third: bears? I have been to bear country several times but still it is weird to me since I live in more or less “tame” europe…

These DVDs are “Region 0” so they should play in Germany and the rest of Europe just fine. I will email you with the shipping costs.
I think the greatest dangers in the summer/fall include drowning, flying, falls, other injuries and sickness, and hypothermia. All are more of a risk than bears. I’ve been in Alaska for about 35 years now and I don’t know anyone killed by a bear. I don’t think I know anyone that knows anyone that has.
